This mid-20th century northwest Persian Karaché runner is hand-knotted in wool and woven in an unusually narrow format, a less common size that reflects both the weaver’s loom limitations and the specific architectural needs of village homes. The ivory field features a vertical succession of bold hexagonal and stepped medallions in terracotta, russet, and indigo tones, each surrounded by a lively network of serrated latch-hook motifs, angular polygons, and stylized tribal devices that animate the entire length of the rug.

The composition is framed by a traditional Karaché border system with a geometric main band flanked by narrow guards, all rendered in a warm, harmonious palette. Finely balanced and visually elongated, this rare narrow runner embodies the distinctive aesthetic and durable construction of northwest Iranian village weaving and is especially well suited for tight corridors, stair landings, or architectural spaces requiring a slender proportion
